The challenge
Before an advisor can help, they need to understand the business. That means reading, researching, sorting information, and deciding which questions matter. After the conversation comes the follow‑up.
I designed SBDC.AI around that whole sequence. The aim is to make the supporting work easier, so the advisor can give more attention to the person in front of them.
The experience
Before the conversation
Bring the business question, relevant material, and research into focus. Start with a useful understanding of the situation.
Working through the question
Use AI to explore possibilities and develop better questions. The advisor checks the reasoning and applies their experience.
After the conversation
Shape a useful summary and a practical next step. The advisor reviews the work before it becomes guidance for a client.
Across the sequence
The workflow, simplified. Human judgment runs through every step.
The design work
From the original concept through the interface and system architecture, I approached SBDC.AI as one connected design problem.
Preparation, research, and follow‑up give the experience its structure. The technology needs to fit the way advising works.
The systems work spans AI services, documents, research, language support, and the Neoserra API. I treat those connections as part of the experience, because every handoff affects the work.
My design principle is to make AI useful for gathering, organizing, and drafting. The advisor brings the context, checks the work, and owns the recommendation.
That’s the idea behind SBDC.AI—and the way I approach complex digital systems.
